Background

For over the past ten years, the Pittsburgh powerhouse has been using technology to bring sports fans closer to the games and teams they love. Today, YinzCam is the leading professional sports mobile app and software developer in the world with over 190 apps in six different countries. 24 NFL clubs. 21 La Liga clubs. 21 NBA clubs. 90 million installs. 19.5 billion views - and the sky's the limit.

The challenge

Like many businesses, sports franchises have taken a massive hit in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. When the world went into quarantine and social distancing threatened the traditional stadium experience as we know it, YinzCam was tasked with providing teams with new ways to stay connected to fans - and vice versa. Our challenge was to help them do it.

The approach

When the world shut down, YinzCam went straight to work - and so did we. Recognizing this as an opportunity to push the limits of technology, to create, and to just do things better, we crafted a campaign to showcase how YinzCam doesn’t back down from problems, they solve them. They solve for sport. A new website was created, along with materials including a presentation, and social media collateral highlighting YinzCam’s unique set of offerings, including a trademarked Cards System that allows for unprecedented customization and personalization for fans to interact with their teams’ apps — not to mention AR, VR, wayfinding, mobile food and beverage ordering, loyalty programs and data/CRM integrations.

The rationale

Before teams dreamed of putting instant replay into the palms of fans’ hands. We solved for that. While the world went on hold, leaving teams searching for ways to stay connected to fans. We solved for that. After social distancing threatened the stadium experience as we knew it. We solved for that. We solve for sport. It’s our passion. We see problems as opportunities to push the limits of technology, to create, and to do things better. We strive for this. We sweat for this. We are never satisfied, always working for more, and for greater. As a team. So when the next challenge arises - a new chance to bring fans and teams closer together than ever - We’ll solve for that too. We solve for sport.

The takeaway

Since entering the engagement, they’ve added a coveted NHL team to their roster after the hockey team saw the value of departing from the singular app the rest of the NHL uses. YinzCam also continues to add to their client roster internationally, welcoming even more teams from La Liga and Australian football. YinzCam represented every team in the 2020 NBA playoffs, as well as 2021 NFL playoffs, including the contenders of the Big Game the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Bucs. They’re projected to reach 200 partners in 2021. Team work makes the dream work.
